Fredrick was born on May 6, 1938, to Harold and Esther (Eaton) Anderson in Covina, CA. He grew up in Henry County, Iowa, graduating from Olds High School and the University of Iowa with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Fredrick married the late Carolyn Miller Anderson on February 19, 1967, in Huntsville, AL, and was married for 25 years until her death in 1992. Fred married Rosanne Beichler Anderson on September 16, 2000, in Huntsville, AL. They especially enjoyed traveling together with Knoxville Tours and visiting family.
Fredrick was a test engineer for the U.S. Army at Redstone Arsenal from 1962 - 1988. He then worked for Rockwell International with NASA from 1988 - 1994.
Fredrick was a member of the North Alabama Railroad Museum (NARM) for many years, serving in leadership and as a locomotive engineer. He was a faithful member and servant to others in ministry at Holmes St. United Methodist Church and led Bible studies there up until his death. Fredrick also spent many years participating in the Huntsville "Walk to Emmaus" Cluster.
Fredrick is survived by his wife of 19 years, Rosanne Beichler Anderson of Huntsville, daughters, Esther Felt (Shawn) of Pensacola, FL, and Elizabeth Dailey (Robert) of Canton, GA, sister, Ellen Wahls (Allen) of Postville, IA, grandchildren, Alexandra Felt, Elise Felt, Carolyn Dailey, and Olivia Dailey, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Fredrick is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Miller Anderson, brother, Spencer Anderson, and his parents.
Fred Anderson was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, and he will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be at 2 PM on November 2, 2019, at Holmes St. United Methodist Church at 501 Holmes Ave., with a Celebration of Life service following at 3 PM with Rev. Todd Owen officiating. A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Holmes St. United Methodist Church Building Fund.
