She was born in Lyerly, Georgia to Rev. Forrest and Trula Slater. In 1961, she married Chester Brown and together they raised 2 children. Tene spent her life taking care of her family and serving God. Tene was a faithful wife, devoted mother, and loving grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Chester.
Survivors include her twin sister, Dodie Cornelius (Don); daughters, Pennie Black (Paul) and Ginger Brooks (Todd); grandchildren, Kristin Harris (Jacob), David Black (Ashley), Kara Kluka (Michael), Matthew Black (Lauren), Sydney Brooks, Jordan Black; and great grandchildren, Ava, Knox, Camden and Evelyn.
