RET MSG Chester Alex Bennett, 78, of Abraham, WA passed away on 22 April 2023 after a heart attack. Chester was born on 2 June 1944 to father Kyle M. Bennett and Mother Flossie A. Pack in Raleigh Co, WVA by midwife Izora Bennett.
After graduating from Richmond High School in 1962, he joined the U.S. Army where he served 22 years with two tours in Vietnam.
In 1964 Chester met Patricia Gaston in Atlanta, GA. Chester and Pat went on to have three children, Jonathan Bennett; Kevin Bennett; and daughter Tammy Echols.
In 1984 Chester retired from the Army and then again in 1994 from the USPS.
Chester is preceded in death by his sisters Nancy Lee Bennett and Nadine Bennett, brothers Ronald Lee Bennett and Darrell Bennett.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Bennett, son's Jonathan Bennett (Jordan), Kevin Bennett, daughter Tammy Echols, granddaughters; Emily, Alexis, Kaylee, and Kiley, and grandson Blake.
The viewing will be held at Valhalla Funeral home on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 5-7 PM
Services will be at Valhalla Funeral Home Wednesday April 26, 2023 at 2pm.
