Betty Delk, born in Utah and raised in Topeka, Kansas, made her home in Huntsville, Alabama, for the last 60 years. She passed away on 18 December, 2022, from natural causes. At 91 years old, she lived a long and fruitful life. A devout Christian, she taught third grade Sunday school and later led an important women’s Bible study class at Highlands Baptist church. She loved animals and had Basenji, Pomeranian and West Highland White Terrier dogs and was never without a pet, including a bird named Mr. Cheeps. Betty was also known as a talented cook and baker. She loved Mexican food, ice cream, bowling, Braves baseball and always pulled for the football team that had the ball: “I like to see them score!”
Betty was a devoted wife and loving mother and will be sorely missed. She was a delightful and supportive friend who was always ready to provide comfort and words of advice. She was predeceased by her husband, George Delk, and is survived by her son, Mitchell Delk, and her daughter-in-law, Nancy Delk.
