Barbara Woodward McNutt

Barbara Jean Woodward McNutt, 85, passed away at her home on Thursday, December 19, 2024. She was born in Lewisburg, TN to Max Harlan Woodward and Salene Jean Woodward on December 3, 1939. She was preceded in death by both parents and one son: Charles David McNutt.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Charles T. McNutt, one daughter: Cathy McNutt Cheatwood (Ken), two sons: Andrew Lawrence McNutt (Crissy) and Charles Patrick McNutt (Michelle), and two sisters: Donna Woodward Gillespie (Harvey) and Virginia Woodward Haislip (Don).

Charles and Barbara’s family were blessed with seven grandchildren: Charles O’Neal Cheatwood, Tyler Matthew Cheatwood, Ashley McNutt Unnerstall, Kelly Drew McNutt, Ethan Patrick McNutt, Addison Carolyn McNutt, and Molly Sophia McNutt. The next generation included four great-grandchildren: Mary JoLyn Cheatwood, Kenneth Carter Cheatwood, Eva Mae Cheatwood and Emerson Betty Cheatwood.

Barbara was raised in Lewisburg, TN and attended Marshal County High School. During her early years she worked for Bell South as a switchboard operator. She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She loved animals, pure-bred Poms and raised champion bloodline Toy Poodles. She was an avid Auburn football and basketball sports fan and closely followed the current politics arena. She kept up with and was very knowledgeable of all personalities in these areas of interest.

A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date to be held at the Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg, TN. The family requests in lieu of flowers that gifts be made to your favorite charity.
