Robert Andy Meese

.Robert “Andy” Meese, 57 of Huntington passed away at 12:11 pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at his home. Andy was a 1976 graduate of Huntington North High School. After graduating high school Andy served his country in the United States Army. Andy worked for the family business Sun Control for 15 years. He also worked for Centennial Wireless for 10 years, as well as selling cars for Kelly Automotive. Andy enjoyed playing sports while growing up and went on to coach and volunteer with several youth leagues in Huntington for many years. Andy attended the Awakening church and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Indiana University Basketball team, Cincinnati Reds, and the Huntington University boys, and girls basketball teams.
Andy was born on February 5, 1957 in Huntington, a son of Robert and Thalia “Tate” (Houston) Meese.
Survivors include a son: Nathan Meese of Fort Wayne; a Sister: Debra (George) George of Shaker Heights Ohio; Two brothers: Ward (Carol) Meese of Marion, and Bill (Sheila) Meese of Huntington; Three nieces: Emily George, Lauren Meese-Holcom, and Maddi Meese; and three nephews: Danny George, Nick Trout, and Grant Meese.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday June 15, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St. Huntington, IN.
Funeral service will be held on Monday June 16, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Jeff Carrell officiating.
Interment will take place at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion.
Memorial donations may be made out to the Huntington University Men's and Women's Basketball Programs, sent in care to Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.
