Marjorie A. Barton, 90 of Huntington passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Oakbrook Village. Marjorie was a 1948 graduate of Huntington Township High School. She owned and operated Barton’s Boondocks. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren.
Marjorie was born on December 16, 1930 in Huntington, the daughter of the late Gordon and Mabel (Christ) Swain.
She was united in marriage to Jack Barton on August 26, 1950 in Huntington. Jack preceded her in death on December 7, 2005.
Survivors include two sons: Michael Barton of Bradenton, FL, Terry (Cindy) Barton of Huntington; a daughter: Jackie Mitchell of Huntington; a brother: Riley (Linda) Swain of Huntington; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Annabelle Swain Poe, a brother: Edward “Cork” Swain and a son-in-law: Steve Mitchell.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Memorial service following visitation at 11:00 am. We will be following the CDC’s and Indiana’s guidelines for masks, social distancing and social gathering limits.
Memorial donations can be made out to donor’s choice of charity in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
