James "Jimmy" C. Peer II

James C. "Jimmy" Peer II, 53 of Huntington, passed away late Sunday afternoon November 17, 2024 at his residence. Jimmy had worked with his family for Peers Tree Service on and off for over 30 years. He was also a lineman and a member of the Traveling Electricians Union, IBEW Local 1393 from 2008 until 2012. Jimmy was a "jack of all trades" and worked several different jobs over the years. He enjoyed motorcycles, boating, skiing, really anything outdoors. He also liked to shoot pool and was a movie buff. JImmy enjoyed spending time with his family and was a loving father and grandfather. He had a self-sacrificing love, but he definitely ran on "Jimmy" time. Jimmy was born on May 19, 1971 in Marion, Indiana a son of James C. Peer and Debra R. Preston. He was united in marriage to Sadie Emry on June 7, 2004 in Kentucky. Sadie preceded him in death on April 22, 2020. Survivors include three sons: Jarred Peer, Dusty Havens and Kyle Havens; three daughters: Kaitlyn Peer, Kortney Peer and Taylor Havens; seven grandchildren; his father Jim (Kathy) Peer; his mother: Debbie Preston and a brother: Jeremy (Erin) Peer. He was preceded in death by a brother: Dustin Haynes. A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana. Memorial Service will take place following the gathering on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
