George “Russ” Prasch 84 of Huntington passed away on Wednesday July 5, 2023 at his home. Russ loved spending time at the ocean, fishing and boating. Russ was a 1961 graduate of John Hopkins University with a degree in electrical engineering. He served as an electrical apprentice for 6 years, working for the United States Coast Guard in Maryland. Later in his career he oversaw the building of the Quanex building in Huntington in 1980. Some of Russ’ favorite places to visit were Ocean City Maryland and Snead’s Ferry in North Carolina. Russ loved music and had an extensive music box collection. Russ was born on October 14, 1939 in Baltimore Maryland the son of the late George J and Edna J. (Harbaugh) Prasch. He was united in marriage to Betty Kennedy on October 18, 1958 in Baltimore. His wife survives Additional survivors include three daughters: Vickie (Rod) Parsell of Marysville Ohio, Amy Lahr of Huntington, and Jennifer (Brad) Heathcote of Andrews; twelve great grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and son-in-law: Edna and John Smith; and a sister: Marion Edwards There will be no public services at this time.
