It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Robert Mitchell Rose, "Bob" to most and "Bobby" to those from his childhood, on March 18, 2025, just one day after losing his beloved wife, Maureen.
Bob was a man of passion, generosity, enthusiasm, positivity, and love. He was outgoing, and his warm smile could brighten anyone's day. People would say that "after talking with Bob, I always felt better about myself." Throughout his life, he was a dancer on American Bandstand and was one of the first people to bring Long-Term Care Insurance to the market. Bob loved innovating and injecting a personal touch into everything he did. To those who knew him best, his greatest achievement was the love and support he shared as a husband, father, and friend.
He loved sharing stories of growing up on Forrest Avenue in Olney, Philadelphia, with his sister, Adrienne, and parents, Manuel and Edith Rose (née Zankman). He enjoyed reminiscing about his time at Olney High School (Class of 1965) and Temple University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree. He loved recalling his early years with friends attending concerts. As time moved on, he valued experiences with those same close friends during trips to Florida and California. Bob enjoyed many things in life such as fine watches, art, and cuisine. Most of all, people were his hobby. He loved talking to others, lending an ear, and lifting spirits in a way that left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path.
Bob cherished his role as a family man above all else. The love story he shared with Maureen spanned 49 years and stands as a testament to devotion and partnership. Together, they built a legacy of love that will continue through their son, Mathew Rose, MD, MS, and all those whose lives they touched.
Perhaps it was fitting that Bob and Maureen would leave this world so close together, as they journeyed through life side by side. Their bond reminds us that true love extends beyond our time on earth.
Bob will be deeply missed, but his spirit, wisdom, and the countless memories he created will forever remain in our hearts.
A visitation is scheduled for 10AM on March 21st 2025, at Lamb Funeral Home located at 101 Byberry Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006, followed by a funeral service, and interment with his wife
