It is with heavy hearts we face today & all our tomorrow’s without the steadfast love of "Brooklyn Bob". He is reunited with the love of his life, Nancy Corallo, family and most importantly JESUS, and we can only imagination how incredible that reunion was.
Preceded in death by his parents, Tom & Lucy Corallo, and wife, Nancy Corallo, he is survived by his sister, Joan Mettalia, children Lisaann Prewett (Glenn Prewett) of Grandview, Robert (Rob) J. Corallo of Phoenix, AZ, Jacqueline Corallo of Willis,TX, and Michael Corallo of Spring, TX. Grandchildren are Clare Pierce (fiance Kevin Rutledge), John Pierce (Melissa), Sean Crixell, Annamarie Crixell, Cali'ere Corallo, and Christian Corallo. Great-grandchildren include Cali'ere Corallo, Luna Pierce, and Blake McGrath. Bob absolutely adored those great-grands!
Bob's nieces hold a special place in his heart - Nancy Adam (Noel), Jane McDonald (Chuck), and Gina Mettalia (Bart) all of Coeur d'Alene, ID, and Kelly Ann O'Dorherty of New York survive him as well.
He was married to Nancy for 43 years until her passing in 2004.
The kindest heart, Bob loved his family and gave incredible devotion to us all. He loved baseball and even had a tryout with the Brooklyn Dodgers back in the day because his hitting got noticed. Instead of pursuing a career in baseball, he joined the US Army and did linesmen work from coast to coast. Sometime after he returned from service, he met his best friend’s sister (my Mom), married in St. Gabriels Catholic Church in Riverdale, NY. Service to the New York City Police Department was next. Bob always embodied a calm & warm demeanor, never meeting a stranger, which served him well in policing in that time.
Bob & Nancy left Commack, NY in 1975 for Clearwater, FL, then in 1979 moved to Spring, TX
Little League baseball became a huge part of their lives thanks to Michael Corallo with Dad always wanting to help train/coach kids. I used to say if you wanted to see my parents, you had to go to a baseball field! Gardening was Bob's other great passion - he grew quite a bit of organic produce out of his backyard! Apple, pear, lemon, and fig trees populated the front yard, and the apple tree was covered with fruit when he passed.
Each of the grandchildren had their own special relationship with their "Papa", and they are feeling a huge loss without his presence, love, and guidance.
It’s truly the end of an era, but a glorious new beginning in heaven. Trying to keep focused on that.
