He was known as the “jokester of the family”. John enjoyed life to the fullest and his family was the love of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clay and Delma Herron; sister, Stella Jo Herron.
John is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Phyllis Herron; his daughters, Tina Hendrix and her husband Ed, Courtney Herron; his sons, John Raymond Herron, William Anthony Herron, Douglas Clifton Herron, James Thompson and Ronny Dunn; sister, Mary V. Rizzo; brothers, Henry “Skip” Herron and Jewell Glen Herron; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren along with other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00 Pm to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the chapel of Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery.
