Jeremiah “Jeremy” Joshua Ponce, age 20, of Houston, Texas exchanged his earthly home for his heavenly home on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. We are grateful for the life he lived, and he will be dearly missed.
Jeremiah (Jeremy) Joshua Ponce was the third of five children born to Gilbert and Blanca Ponce on May 24, 2002, in Houston, Texas. Jeremy accepted God into his life, loved God, and his faith was strong. He was baptized in Jesus name on October 29, 2016 at Galveston Bay in Galveston, Texas.
In 2020, Jeremy graduated from KIPP High School (Houston, TX). Following graduation, he went into the workforce and worked various jobs.
Since the day Jeremy was born, his smile, his love for his family, and his heart was “BIG”. He loved his dad, mom, and siblings unconditionally. He was a selfless person and always made sure that everyone was taken care of before himself.
Jeremy was the type of person that if you met him today, you would never forget him. He was pure hearted, kind, tender, loving, honest, caring, thoughtful, and a giver. He had a genuine spirit.
Jeremy was a dedicated person and loved learning new things. He was the type that had a goal in mind and would commit and stay focused on it until it was accomplished. His hobbies included playing video games (Call of Duty, Smash Bros., fighting games, etc.), playing sports (basketball, football), and recently got into exploring different parts of Houston while working his delivery job. He also got into working out recently and was focused on getting healthy.
He loved spending time with his younger siblings Zach and Aaliyah, making sure that he could spoil them any chance he could. He was very close with them, always sharing smiles and laughs. He would spend time with them at the park or play games.
He also loved spending time with his older brothers, Jr and Mark. Whether it be playing games, driving around, or just being together. Even though his oldest brother was stern with him, he always respected his guidance and the example he provided. When he was told to do something, he would do it no questions asked. He would even wear his clothing without asking. He would love eating out with his brother Mark. Just spending time with his older brothers made him complete.
He was not only a brother to his siblings but was also considered a little brother by his Sister In Laws Maria and Melissa. He would love to spend time with them.
Being an uncle came easy to him, he loved spoiling his nephew and niece. He never missed an opportunity to bring them Shipley’s Donuts early in the morning while he was working.
Lastly, he enjoyed playing with the family dogs, Buddy, Maxxi, and Roxxy. Buddy was given to him by his teacher in 10th grade. He would teach him tricks, along with Maxxi. With Roxy, he would always do something to make her mad in a loving manner.
In addition to his siblings, nephew, and niece, he also loved spending time with his cousins. No matter who, he always made sure he had a good time with them. There was never a dull moment when you were around him. His laugh and smile were infectious.
With his passing, he has taken a piece of all of our hearts. We will all miss him in our own way because he meant something to each of us individually. Although he was here for a short time, he made an impact in our lives that will not be forgotten and will be forever “LOVED”.
