Alberta Melancon was born to Laura and Ashton Melancon on October 19, 1957, in Lafayette Louisiana. She graduated from Spring High School in 1976 and attended University of Houston for a short time. Her first retirement was with Hertz Corporation- Houston Chronicle as a Computer Operator lll, until 2012. Shortly afterward she started working for Conroe Independent School District until her second retirement in 2024.
She is survived by her sister Sally Pankhurst and her brother Larry Melancon (sister-in-law Patty), Her nephews David Stiles, Jason Melancon, Brien Melancon, Berry Wade King ll, Chandler King and her niece Jasmine Locks and along with many other nieces and nephews.
Special Thanks to all her Co-Workers from the Houston Chronicle and very special thanks to her Co-Workers at McCullough Junior High School. Also to all the teachers and students who's hearts she had touched.

A funeral mass will occur Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 22800 Aldine Westfield Rd, Spring, TX 77373. A committal will occur Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
Serving as pallbearers are David Stiles, Jason Melancon, Brien Melancon, Berry Wade King ll and Chandler King.
