AKA "Freddie" / "Gordie"
July 19, 1955 - April 24, 2023
In loving memory of Gordon Druce, who peacefully passed away in his home surrounded by his
family after a short battle with cancer at the age of 67. Gordon is predeceased by his parents
Mildred Truax and Gordon Druce, and survived by his wife Sonia V. Druce and his five children;
Tanya Sullivan (Wendall), Christopher Druce, Stephanie Druce, Michael Druce (Natalie) and
Sofiya Gabrielle Druce. He also leaves behind his seven grandchildren, as well as many nieces,
nephews, friends and coworkers. Gordon was a proud member of the Commissionaires Ottawa
for over 30 years, embarking on multiple trips abroad representing the Corps in Canadian
embassies and consulates.
He loved playing the guitar. Being a Jack of All Trades he always had a tool in his hand fixing or
upgrading whatever he could. Whether it was in his home or someone else's.
On a daily basis, Gordon could be found at his local Tim Horton’s enjoying his medium black
coffee. He was often joined by his very dear friend of 40 years, Pierre Aubrey. Gordon was a
very well-liked and respected man who inspired many. He also had many nicknames for those
dear to him, and served as a father figure, opening his arms to those beyond his family, and
leaving his doors open to many. Gordon had a great sense of humour and his favourite sayings,
“for fuck sakes” and “humph,” will live on in all of us forever.
