Steve Artsel Sanders

Steve was born and raised in Modesto, and graduated from Modesto High School with the Class of 1966. After high school, he built a successful business with his father and brothers. Together, they developed commercial real estate in the area and brought in many retailers and restaurants that are staples in the community to this day.

He was passionate about many hobbies over the years. Some of which included motorcycle racing, racquetball, softball, martial arts, playing music, and most recently mountain biking.

Steve will be deeply missed and present in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his children, Drew (Cassidy) Sanders of Oakdale, Tamra Stephens of Danville and Talya (Dan) Martin of Truckee, along with 7 beloved grandchildren Carter, Sloan, Hadley, Bryce, Cole, Tennyson, and Mavrik. He is also survived by his brothers, Bruce (Kathy) Sanders of Modesto, and Brian (Carrie) Sanders of Modesto.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 18th at 10:00 am at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 S. Santa Fe Ave., Hughson with burial at Lakewood Memorial Park immediately following the service.
