Shirley Mae Reed

Shirley Mae Reed, age 92, of Turlock, California passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023. Shirley spent 22 years as the head Secretary at Denair High School. She was well known for her cookies and pies that she made from scratch. She was also known for her sarcastic sense of humor and could rarely give a straight answer to a question which often kept people on their toes.

Shirley married Earl Reed after only knowing him for 3 months and they spent many years happily married until his passing in 2006. Shirley’s strong faith kept her going knowing she would join him when it was her time.

Shirley was preceded in death by her Husband Earl A Reed , her parents Rahe and Gladys Borchelt and a Grandson Danny Gray Reed.

She is survived by her son Raymond Reed and wife Valarie of Bakersfield , Son Mike Reed and wife Cyndy of Hughson, 6 Grandchildren,16 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren.

A service will be held at Lakewood Cemetery 900 Sante Fe Ave. Hughson Ca on February 11, 2023 at 10:30am. The burial will be directly after the service and a luncheon will be provided at the Lakewood facility afterwards.

In lieu of flowers Shirley asked that donations be made to the Denair Fire Department in her honor.
