Katherine Summers passed away with her son by her side, in Modesto, CA on May 5, 2014. Katherine was a native from St. Louis, MO. As a young lady she resided in Flat River, MO; home of Ferlin Husky. She kept busy working near the Illinois Stockyards’ where a persistent gentlemen caller asked her out on a date almost every day. This gentlemen’s name was Eugene Summers, and she finally agreed to the date… They married and moved to the Modesto area in the 70’s. Together they raised a family and celebrated 50+ years of wedded bliss.
Katherine enjoyed the outdoors, cooking and music. Ferlin Husky’s Wings of a Dove was one of her favorites; which will be the final farewell for those who knew and loved her dearly.
She is survived by her son, Randy Summers and her brother, Steve Zobrisky of Columbia, MO. She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Summers.
Funeral services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave. Hughson CA. 95326; visitation and Rosary on Thursday May 8th from 4-8pm. (Rosary at 6:00pm) Chapel service on Friday May 9th at 1:30pm.
