Joseph Henry Casey was born on December 10th 1947 in Modesto, CA. He grew up and lived his whole life in Waterford. He graduated from Oakdale High School in 1966 and attended Modesto Junior College before going to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he majored in Agricultural Mechanics. He was drafted into the US Army in 1969 during the Vietnam War and served as a company clerk and training NCO in Fort Riley, Kansas. He then married his wife of 49 years, Sharolyn in August of 1975 followed by the birth of his son Corey in 1979 and daughter Kari in 1981. Joe was a heavy equipment mechanic and operator, a member of the Operating Engineers, and retired in 2005. After retirement Joe and Sharolyn enjoyed traveling, going on Model A runs, and watching their grandkids. Joe loved tinkering in his shop, working on his 31 Model A Sedan and other classic cars, spinning his stories and jokes, and spending time with his family. If he was not at a car show, swap meet, or hunting for spare change he was probably stopping by to see one of his many friends or jumping on the trampoline with the grandkids. He was the type of person who could build anything, fix anything, or do just about anything he set his mind to. Joe and Sharolyn were members of the Oakdale Model A club, the Community Bible Church, and the Waterford Historical Society. He died on September 23, 2024 of a sudden heart attack, he was 76 years old. He is survived by his wife Sharolyn, son Corey (Shannon), daughter Kari (Matthew), grandkids Shavonne (Daryll), Chelsea (Johnathon), Tristan, Bernadette, and Nolan, Brother Patrick, and many more cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Joe never met a stranger and always had a story to fit every occasion. A memorial service and reception will be held at 10am on October 4th at the Community Bible Church located at 14143 Yosemite Blvd in Waterford, CA followed by a graveside service at Lakewood Memorial Park located at 900 Santa Fe Ave. Hughson, CA.
