Bob was born to Robert Scott and Margaret Rhodes on October 30, 1935, in Modesto, CA. They spent time living in both Boulder, CO then later Denver, CO.
While in Boulder, he graduated from Boulder High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Charlene Woodruff, and they were married on September 2, 1956. Later, they would move to California in the 1960's.
Bob was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in the automotive industry sales and repairs, and later enjoyed his retirement.
When not working, he enjoyed spending his time participating in his Western gunfight re-inactment group; traveling in his RV; playing golf; and rooting for his favorite football team, the Oakland Raiders.
Bob is preceded in death by his brothers Albert and Herbert Sr., daughter Cathryn Garrett and grandson Joseph Duenas, PFC (who was killed in Iraq.)
He is survived by his wife Charlene Garrett of Lodi, son John W. (Rose) Garrett of Ceres, daughter Carolyn Findley of Lockeford, granddaughters Christine Rodriguez of Lockeford, Priscilla Pistante of Oakland, grandson Michael Garrett of Stockton and great-grandaughter Caydence Rodriguez of Lockeford.
He was a strong Christian who loved his Lord and loved serving his fellow man. He never met a stranger and was always ready to serve in any way he could.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lodi on Tuesday, January 9th, at 11:00am, Rev. John Kah will be be hosting.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Peter Lutheran Church and School.
