Janice Gail Golladay was born on May 14, 1944 in Portland, Oregon to James Clifford and Mildred Cooper. Mom thoroughly enjoyed music and was blessed with a God-given talent to play the piano and sing. At the early age of eleven, she was elected as church pianist and continued for over fifty years serving in the church and using her talent for the Lord.
Mom enjoyed our family road trips as we rode in the car singing along to The Gaither Vocal Band, The Hoppers, or even our own made up songs. The most memorable times were when we would leave home and just drive. No particular destination in mind. We would stop along the way, find a place for lunch and Mom would always agree that we weren’t lost, we were on an adventure.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband Ray and both of her parents. She is survived by her only daughter Shannon and son-in-law Bennie Baca, grandson Matthew Baca, his fiancee Cristina and Janice’s friend and comadre Christina Baca (Bennie’s mother) all of Ceres, CA. She also leaves behind her sister Irma Welch of Springdale, AR, nephews Bob Welch and Bill Welch, niece Kathy Pameticky as well as several great nephews and nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
