Ernest Manuel Azevedo, born on June 19, 1933 in Ripon, California, to John and Mary Azevedo, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in Oakdale, California, at the age of 91. He was the youngest of six siblings: Mary, Tony, John, Madeline, and Elsie.
After graduating from Escalon High School in 1951, ernest served his country with honor in the United States Navy. In 1961, he married Lorraine Lucas, and together they shared 53 years of marriage until her passing in 2014. They raised three children: Teresa, Mary, and Vincent.
Ernest worked for many years as a dedicated employee at Campbell's Soup Company. Beyond his professional life, he and Lorraine were active members of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. They enjoyed traveling with their camper club and cherished time spent playing games with friends. Ernest had a passion for gardening and deep appreciation for nature. He was also an avid sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings; his beloved wife, Lorraine; and his son, Vincent. He is survived by his daughter Teresa Hale (Gary), their children Sandra Litteral (Ryan) and Kathleen Peterson (Gregory), and Kathleen's children Aden, Jenna, and Jodie; his daughter Mary Hale (Robert), their children Tarah Bryant (Jairus) and Robert, and Tarah's children Jacqueline, Charlotte, Elizabeth, and Caroline; as well as Marc, Vincent's son.
Rosary services will begin at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Turlock, 1200 Lyons Ave, Turlock, CA 95380 on December 20th. Mass will follow at 12:00PM. Following the Mass a graveside will occur at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA, 95326.
