In 1936, the family, consisting of Donald and three sisters, moved to Modesto. Donald attended Lincoln and Roosevelt Schools and graduated from Modesto High School. After a short stint in the US Navy, he returned to Modesto and took over the family ranches of almonds, walnuts and peaches. He farmed them until 2010.
He married Margaret Delphey in 1956 and they raised two children, Donald and Janet Scott. He and Margaret were married for 60 years until her passing in 2016.
Donald was a master craftsman and enjoyed working in his shop.
He also enjoyed cruises and sightseeing throughout the US.
He was survived by his son Donald, His daughter Janet, and his twin sister Dona Nagel.
A viewing will be held on Nov 29 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with a service held on Nov 30 at 10:00am at the Heritage Chapel at Lakewood Funeral Home.
