Originally born in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon MX, he came to California in 1962 where he later met his wife and settled down in the Modesto/Ceres area. Together they decided to make Ceres their permanent home to lay down roots and where Blas resided for 43 yrs until his death. He attended St. Stanislaus Church for over 40 yrs and worked for Tri Valley Growers #7 for 28 yrs as an Industrial Seamer Mechanic which he enjoyed.
Blas was a man loved and appreciated by many. He had countless stories about his adventures and the good ol' days he delightfully shared that were heard and cherished by family and friends. He had a great sense of humor, playful and was often known to be a practical joker which kept him young at heart. An intelligent man with many abilities, there was very like he could not fix or improve be it his cars or his home. Saying he was a hard-working man would be an understatement, especially during his vital years. That side of him was well balanced with a very loving and affectionate one that came so naturally to him.
Besides surrounding himself with loved ones, he was at his happiest amongst nature tending to his many plants and trees. He also shared many strong bonds with his K-9 companions. Blas airways enjoyed and appreciated great conversations and could hold his own in all topics. He will be sorely missed, leaving behind a great void in our lives.
Blas is survived by his loving spouse of 50 yrs Maria Petra Hernandez, their daughters Sonia Barajas (J.Manuel) Erika Rasmussen (Bruce) and children from a previous marriage, Juan Blas Hernandez (Rosy) Elizabeth Olvera (Jesus) Patricia Morales (Ricardo) Abraham Hernandez (Linda) Marisol Hernandez (Eliu) Consuelo DeLeon and leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Blas is also survived by his brothers Chano Hernandez and Jose E. Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents Epifanio and Generosa Hernandez as well as siblings Gregorio Hernandez, Silvano Hernandez, Abundio Hernandez, Benito Hernandez, Chita Robles, Petra Montemayor and Felipa Villarreal.
