Betty Ann Holmes

Betty Ann Holmes, age 71, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, September 1st, 2017, at Brandel Manor in Turlock, California. She was born March 26, 1946, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Harry L. and Edna Hodges. She was a 1966 Graduate of Oakdale High School. Early in life, she was married and enjoyed the company of her children and family. Later, she enjoyed work as Manager of the Bridal/ Lingerie/ Furniture Departments at Gottschalks for 13 years where her people skills served her well. A wonderful grandmother, mother, sister and friend, her hobbies included reading, craft making and all activities involving her beloved grandchildren: Kalie, Devon, Shane and Isabela. Always, she will be remembered for her very giving and kind hearted soul. She is survived by her husband, Franklin P. Holmes; her daughter, Maghan (Dan); and son, Sean (Xenia); mother, Edna; sisters Donna, Kathy and Mary; brothers, Don, Earl and Andrew; her uncles Paul and Earl, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Harry Leroy Hodges in 1961 and her sister, Joyce Porter in 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Covenant Care Hospice. The family would like to thank the staff of Doctor's Medical Center, Brandel Manor and Hospice for their extraordinary compassion and care over the last few months. Services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson. Family and friends are invited to grieve, reminisce and support one another during a viewing, held on Sept. 10 from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral to be held Sept. 11th: 10 am Internment, 11 am Service and Reception to follow.
