Mary Ellen Thomas

Mary Ellen (Byers) Thomas, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2014. She was born in Guelph, Ontario in 1926 to Charles Alexander Byers and Martha Ellen Wheeler. She was a member of West Citrus Community Center of Homosassa. Mary loved playing bingo, playing cards and jig-jaw puzzles. Before moving to Hospice House, she lived at Nature Coast Assistance Living facility in Lecanto, Florida. She was the loving wife of Joseph (Joe) Thomas who passed away in 2009. She will be forever loved and missed; especially her smile.

Mary is survived by her son John Thomas and wife Carla of Barnardsville, NC; daughters Susan Nebrick and husband Tom of Bryson City, NC and Janice Jones and husband Rodney of Homosassa, FL.; sisters Dorothy Bayne of Brantford, Ontario, Canada; Laura Benson of Winnipeg, Manitoba; brother Dan Byers and wife Leila of Woodstock, Ontario, Canada and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving grandmother to Tommy Jones of Homosassa and Jenny Jones who passed in 2000. Also, was a great-grandmother to Haylee Jones of Hilliard, Florida. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Citrus in Homosassa, FL
