Nancy would like you to know when she met her future husband, Bob Hart, on a blind date, was the luckiest day of her life. After 60 years of marriage, along with three children (and their spouses) Noreen (Thom McMahon), Theresa (Paul McCullin), Bob Jr. (Alexa Simon), four grandchildren (Ryan, Alyssa, Emily, and Devon), her surviving brother Frank, dozens of nieces and nephews, and even more cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Francis (Brud) and Anne (Carroll) Foster, her brothers David, Charles (Chuck), and Michael.
Nancy was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader that resulted in life-long friendships. She attended University of Delaware and was a graduate of Wilmington School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at the former Delaware Division Hospital and VNA/Visiting Nurse Association. Nancy finished her professional career as an employment coordinator at Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital in Browns Mills, New Jersey.
Her love of travel took her and Bob all over the world. She took up golf at 60. Like many, she struggled with the game but enjoyed the camaraderie.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and loyal friend. Nancy leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship. The family would like to offer a special thank you to all the family, friends, and neighbors for the support and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone in need, in her name.
A memorial service will be held at a future date in Spring Hill as well as Wilmington, Delaware.
