Zondra G Hirsch, affectionately known as “Sweetie” or “Z” was born on August 1, 1962, in Paincourtville La. She was born to Consuwella and Edgar Hirsch Sr and is the third of five children. She received her formal education from Ruby L. Elementary School, Cullen Middle School, and Jack Yates Senior High School where she was an active band member as a flag girl during her high school years.
Raised in a Christian home, Zondra was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. Herbert Stroman at Christian Hope Baptist Church. There she faithfully attended B.T.U, Sunday School, and sang in the youth choir. Later in life she became a member of the Promised Land Christian Worship Center Church, pastors being Dr.Walter Hanks Jr and Pastor Bryan O Morris Sr. Zondra’s deep love for God, and desire to praise Him was witnessed and admired by everyone. We can not sum up her role in God’s church with one word, however, she was a “worshiper”. She was dedicated to the CARES ministry, women’s ministry, the women’s choir, the greeters, and the hospitality ministry at her church. In her latter days she became a virtual member of the Second Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church following her Senior Pastor Bryan O Morris Sr. She was found faithful until the very end!
Sweetie led a life of joy and positivity. She truly loved spending quality time with her family, friends, and loved ones. In her working years she provided private medical assistance for the elderly, and in her leisure time she enjoyed reading her bible and chatting with friends. There was nothing more important to her than being an extraordinary devoted mother and grandmother. She was a loving spirit to her parents, sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Z loved and cherished living her life to the fullest and always kept a smile on her face.
Zondra was preceded in death by her father Edgar Hirsch Sr., brother Edgar Hirsch Jr., nephew Calvin Hirsch Jr., nephew Alfred Adams, and a person she held very close to her heart, Brittney Vasquez, the mother of her only grandchild. Zondra G. Hirsch received her calling Crown to Glory from her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on August 22, 2023
She leaves to honor, cherish and celebrate her memories: her son Marquis Hirsch, daughter, Angel Sanders, and granddaughter, Jazlynn Hirsch; her loving gorgeous mother, Consuwella Rogers (James) her sisters, Chrisanders Cox, Shan Moss (Charles), Janice Roberson (Bill), Rhonda Kay Hayes; her loving brother, Calvin Hirsch (Lynette); her nieces: Joy Rogers, Ashley Robertson (Tyrone), Mercedes Hirsch, Carletha Menifee, Courtney Jefferson, and nephews: Tony Jefferson, Bobby Caesar, Anthony Hirsch, Shelton Hirsch, and Alton Hirsch; her best friends, Annette Black, Shanna Lazar and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
