Yolanda married Baltazar Escamilla Aguilar on September 28th, 1962, in San Antonio, TX, then moved to Houston, TX in 1969. They were married for 42 years and raised 3 sons.
Yolanda is survived by her son Edward Aguilar, (Yvonne), and her granddaughters, Jessica Lopez Ortiz, who was very dear to her heart, Maryalice Collins, and Samantha Aguilar. She loved all her grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory, her siblings, Juan Chavez (Guadalupe), Jessie Chavez (Margie), Roland Chavez, Rachel Martinez, and her beloved family.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her mother, Herlinda Pardo, (2006), husband, Baltazar E. Aguilar, (2004) and her sons Jessie Aguilar, (2009) and Joe Aguilar, (2015). And her sister Anastacia Torres, (2005).
Yolanda worked as a Security Guard for Rice University, for 5 years, and later as a Gardner for the campus home of the university, where she developed her hobby and interest in plants. Yolanda also had an enduring love for all animals, she especially loved her dogs, (Zoey), cats (Sweet Pea), and enjoyed feeding and looking at birds. In her earlier active years prior to Covid, Yolanda attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and Christ the King Catholic Church.
Her Celebration of Life, will be held with a Rosary, officiated by St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and is scheduled for Saturday, January 7th, 6:00pm - 7:00pm, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. Doors will open at 5:30pm, and close at 7:30pm. In her honor, the family requests that donations be made to an Animal Shelter of your choice. The family would also like to thank the Escamilla Family for their continual love and support.
