Willie Lee Barr

Willie Lee Barr was born December 31, 1928 and entered into eternal rest January 5, 2018. She was born and raised in Trinity County, Texas and graduated Centerville High School. After graduation she moved to Houston where she was introduced to Leo D. Barr. They were married May 10, 1947 enjoying 66 years together while raising two children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom M. Hill and Winnie Clark Hill; and husband, Leo D. Barr.

Willie Lee is survived by her son, Dennis R. (Randy) Barr and wife Windy; grandson, Andrew Barr and wife Renda and great grandson Aidan; grandson, Owen Barr and wife Leasha; granddaughter, Cara McConnell and husband Alvin and great granddaughter, Trista McConnell; loving sister, Betty Davis Minshew; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Willie Lee was strong in her Christian faith. She loved playing gospel music on her piano and singing. After retirement she and Leo loved to travel and had many special times together. Her family was her main focus; she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Willie Lee loved people and never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM; with a funeral service at 2:00 PM in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home; followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
