William Arthur Morris

William “Bill” A. Morris a.k.a. Daddy was born on September 17, 1923 to Felix Reginald and Ella Katherine “Peggy” Wright Morris in Asheville, NC. Bill was lifted to heaven on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Bill graduated from Lamar High School in 1942. He was in the Coast Guard during WWII. He attended the University of Houston School of Fine Arts and Museum of Fine Arts Academy and has been a member of The Art League of Houston since 1948. He worked as a Commercial Art Director for Foley’s Department Store and Gordon United Jeweler’s along with several other businesses in the Houston area. Bill was a life time member of First Christian Church in Houston. He continued to enjoy his photography and camera collecting well into his retirement years. Bill is survived by his loving children, William Arthur Morris-Jones and, Zollie “Scott” Morris-Jones and, Michael David Morris and wife Lisa, Miriam E. Morris-Trost and husband James, Hugh Morris; sister, Barbara Morris-Green and husband Rudy; 7 grandchildren, Brian Jones, Michael Jones, Christian Jones, Stefanie Jones, Justin Jones, Swordsman Morris, Kassandra Morris; many other relatives and a host of friends. Visitation will be Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home. His celebration of life will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2010 at First Christian Church, 1601 Sunset Blvd. Houston, TX 77005. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
