When I think of Rusty, I think of his passion for the Longhorns and UT tailgates. When myself or family/friends would come by, he would stop whatever he was doing to say hello and welcome you. We would often comment how kind a person he was to welcome you in the middle of hosting such wonderful tailgates. He will be sorely missed and his kindhearted soul will always be remembered. 

Was Blessed to know and work with Rusty for many years.  Thoughts and Prayers with the family!  Now he has the best seat to UT football, where the Miller Lite flows endlessly and all renewals are 20% decreases forever!  

I am praying that God will bring comfort to all of us who are hurting over Rusty's passing.  He was an exceptional man who touched many lives.

When my brothers and I were young, Rusty was our country cousin. He may have in lived in a small town but to us he was like Elvis, the King of Hudson. He was right there at leading edge of the sixties. He introduced us to the Righteous Brothers. He had a driver’s license. He took us cruising on Timberland Drive. We didn’t know what cruising was. All that mattered is that our much-admired cousin paid attention to us.

I am so saddened to learn of Rusty's passing. He was such a great person and I had the extreme honor of having him as a manager when I was on the Energy Casualty team.  I could always count on Rusty's support with Colleague Resource Events, up to our last virtual call in August. He was always up for a college football discussion, listen to me complain about the college recruiting process or talk about my son Braeden's games at SMU (he now has a grandson named Brayden :-)) . Rusty was a true supporter and friend and he will be greatly missed! Sincerest condolences to the family. I am praying for your comfort and peace.

Rusty was an innovative and dedicated, casualty broker and client executive professional. We worked together for 20 years at Marsh.  He was fair, considerate, thoughtful, and had a great sense of humor, which is very helpful in the insurance industry.  He always made time to mentor and coach, problem-solve, and review ideas.  His door was always open and he was focused and ready to listen.  My condolences go out to his family.  Rusty was a great human being.

I was blessed to be a friend and work with Rusty for over 20 years at Marsh.    His knowledge of Casualty Insurance was unsurpassed.  We visited almost everyday when we were both in the office to discuss business, but always a little college and high school sports.   Texas of course, but he allowed me to rejoice or bemoan how Texas Tech was doing.   I had lunch with Rusty in early September and am so glad I did.   He was the definition of a gentlemen and had an impact on so many people, never to be forgotten.

For more than 20 years Rusty was my friend, broker and travel companion.  We visited more than 25 countries and every one had it's own story.  From Rio to Bucharest to Milan and Oslo I always called it Rusty and Tony's great adventure.   When we went to dinner we couldn't  have been more different.   I would order the most exotic thing on the menu.  Rusty would always order the most American item and pare it with a Miller Lite.  My favorite trips were to London and Bermuda.   He will be missed by a lot of people.   I hope his family finds comfort in the fact that during this life he did so much good for so many .  He was a awesome man. 

Rusty was one of the best brokers I had the pleasure of working with over the years.  He is widely respected in our industry, and was instrumental to our corporation.  My condolences to his family.  He made a lasting impression and will be missed.

I have such great memories of going to Austin and Dallas for Texas games with Rusty and Melinda.  In the early days we tailgated by sitting on a brick wall in the parking lot  on the campus eating food we picked up on the way.  Rusty brought tailgating to a whole new level.
 
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his many friends.

Rusty was a great man and always the consummate professional.  I traveled with him across the globe for insurance renewals and he was respected wherever he went.  You always knew he put the client first and would negotiate the best deal.  The relationships he built in the industry were second to none.  We had many long talks about sports and he was always interested in how my kids were performing.  He was a good friend and will be greatly missed.  

Rusty was such a fantastic colleague, friend and mentor to many.  His memory and character will stand as a benchmark for others to emulate.

While I only got to meet Rusty in person 1 or 2 times on my trips to Houston, he was on my speed dial for anything pertaining to US Energy Casualty.  Every time I called for help, Rusty responded and was always helpful.  I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and my thoughts are with his family and friends.  I will definitely raise a Miller Lite to him in his honour.

My dad used to joke that every year Rusty was the 1st in line for a Fletcher's Corny Dog before the TX/ OU game.

He will be sorely missed by so many.

On the day that Rusty and his mother came home from the hospital. I was at Aunt Alma’s, Rusty’s grandmother. I was so excited to get to see the new baby! I must admit, though, that my excitement waned over the next years because the boyish antics of my brothers Barry and Mel, Rusty and his cousin Mike did get in the way of my growing up. Oh, but those were wonderful times. Sweet memories.

Rusty was one of the finest and most professional insurance brokers I had the benefit of knowing.  Wonderful man.  When I joined Marsh five years ago, Rusty was the first colleague I met with in the office.  He was genuine, caring, considerate and hard working.  Although he loved his profession, he was always equally thrilled and proud to talk family and faith. He will be deeply missed by so many, my goal is to remember the way he would look and react to things and try to emulate that in my own life.

I have to smile when I think of Rusty.  A serious guy, who could be funny and enjoyed a joke or a funny story.  I'll miss his involvement with NOV, his experience, his smartness, his support.  Such a good man - no doubt they broke the mold when God created him.  Keep smiling down on us Rusty.  You will be missed and I hope you were aware of your value.

Rusty was one of the nicest people I have known in my life,  every morning I would pass by his office and  say hi.                     

Rusty was the epitome of a perfect gentleman.  He was so kind to EVERYONE.  He was also so well respected and always made everyone he worked around feel important.  I will miss his great smile and laugh,  his professionalism and especially his unique and genuine good nature.

Sincerely condolences to Rusty's family and loved ones.  He was a valued colleague, always ready to share his extensive knowlege and pitch in to help.  Rusty will be missed!  

Rusty and I grew up together. We literally saw each other every day for the first 17 years of my life. He was my double cousin for which we got a lot of grief. His dream was to be a sportscaster. While I was in Vietnam, he went to SFA basketball games and recorded his play by play. He then sent the tape to me or to our buddy Mickey Youngblood who was in Germany. “Spanning the globe from Munich, Germany to Long Bien, Vietnam. He was a unique man. We worked together at Marsh. He will be truly missed. 

Rusty was simply “as good as they come “.  He was a very good friend and will be dearly missed.

Great memories of a great Hudson schoolmate … He knew right from wrong early on & kept us all straight (when he could!) … What a loss to our world but what great memories he left with us

Rusty was a great friend and teammate of mine at Hudson.Great friend and one of the nicest guy I had the privilege to meet.He was a good athlete and a loyal friend for life.He loved sports and knew so much about them and enjoyed playing them.He will be missed!
