Vivian Bailey Luce Bond was born June 12, 1942 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Cordia and LW (Shorty) Bailey.
“Vicki” grew up in Rush Springs, OK and graduated Rush Springs High School in 1960. She moved to Houston, Texas in the early 1960’s with her sister, Nancy Bailey Hrivnatz. Vicki started her career at Southwestern Bell then had a long and successful career as a senior buyer at Brown and Root and continued working before retiring in the early 2000s. She was as devoted and successful in her work as she was in her family life. She will be best remembered for how she gave selflessly to her family and demonstrated strength and leadership throughout her life.
In the early 1960’s she married Robert Earl Luce and she had a little boy named Robbey. She sacrificed much to raise her son Robert as a model citizen. She and Robert were inseparable and they enjoyed a very special and close parent and child relationship throughout her life. Vicki also enjoyed very close relationships with her three younger sisters and they remained very close and best friends. She also played a very influential role in the upbringing of her nephews, and their children and shared many summers and holidays together in Houston, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. In 1988 she married Dale J. Bond in Houston, Texas. Vicki and Dale have enjoyed many days, nights and precious moments together by building a life that has had 34 years of steadfast and devoted marriage. She loved family and decorating for holidays thus winning awards for such. She enjoyed biscuits and gravy, cantaloupe and gravy, and Oklahoma watermelons (no gravy).
Vicki has left an indelible mark on the lives of all of her family and friends. She will be remembered fondly as she was admired by all whose lives she touched. Her wisdom and memory live on by the sage advice she has given her son, nephews, and great niece over the years.
