Virginia Gentile Davis has gone to be with the Lord and her loving husband on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. She was born in Youngstown, OH on March 23, 1935 to Dominic and Carmela Gentile. The family moved to the Houston Heights when she was 9 years old and she later attended Incarnate Word Academy. She was proud of her life-long friendships she kept since her childhood. After graduation, she met her soon to be husband, Charles on a blind date. They settled in Pasadena where they raised their family and were married for 58 years until his passing.
She is survived by their three children, daughter Lisa Nelson and husband Eric, sons Donald Davis and Ronald Davis and fiancé Teresa Thompson, grandchildren Taylor and Ashley, great grandson Jackson, brothers Fred Gentile and wife Diane and Michael Gentile.
Her love of toddlers called her to teach Sunday school at South Main Baptist Church for almost 5 decades. There she built lasting relationships with many of the church families. During that time, she was the Mother’s Day Out Director as well as the best stay at home mom for many years. Taking care of all the kids that played outside until the street lights came on. She later worked at Hallmark and had the best stories to tell along with two more treasured friendships. She loved taking pictures and writing poetry for her friends and family. She always found just the right words to celebrate an occasion or comfort someone in need. This was a gift she had all her life.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Tranquility Personal Care Home for all their love and exceptional care they have given her this past year. They brought out the comedian and singer in her!
Services to be held at Forest Park Lawndale Friday, July 19th at 1:00. Visitation one hour prior. Family Graveside following.
