Virgil attended public schools in Houston, Texas and graduated from Waltrip High School in 1978. Virgil matriculated to pursue higher education at Sam Houston State University and the University of Houston. He was a self-taught organist, photographer, and linguist with over seven foreign languages. He later attended Tyler Barber College in Tyler, Texas and worked for years at Organ Barbershop in downtown, Houston, Texas.
Virgil transitioned on March 27, 2023, at 3:45 a.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Planey V. Robinson, and brother, Charles P. Robinson.
Virgil attended Buck Street Memorial Church of God in Christ at an early age with his parents. He was an avid reader and movie buff and thoroughly enjoyed fine arts, entertainment, and good food; however, he had a great passion for photography. He was also a massive fan of his hometown baseball team—The Houston Astros!
While Virgil never married, he lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count.
Cherishing his memory is his mother, Mrs. Ora Lee Barnes-Robinson, four nephews; Byron Johnson, Charles Robinson, Jr., Christopher Robinson, and Luca Robinson; four special cousins, Ruth Robinson Barrow of Houston, Texas, Dell Robinson Audry (Alfred) of Tucson, Arizona, Mrs. Charles Etta Jackson and Mrs. Karla Jackson Perkins; a host of other relatives of the Barnes and Robinson families and friends.
