Vincent was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Army from 1943 to 1945. He served in the China Burma India theater and was in the Mars Task Force. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
After the war Vincent, returned home and back to work for Southern Pacific Railroad where he retired after 43 years.
He would meet the love of his life in 1948, Margarita and have 74 years of marriage and five children.
He was a member of Lake Houston United Methodist Church where he volunteered anytime they needed help. He was also a member of many organizations over the years. He was always ready to help out whenever and wherever help was needed. He also volunteered at the May Community Center. You could also find him on Tuesdays at 10 o' clock having coffee and playing baseball darts with his friends that he just enjoyed so much. They would also go on day trips to various places, have themed luncheons and parties throughout the year.
Vincent loved being outside whether it was working with his plants or on that riding mower, mowing the grass. He loved fishing and you could also find him reading, listening to music and watching the boats go by.
Vincent is preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Margarita, father Catarino, mother, Carmen, brother, Paul, sisters, Clara, Frances, Santos, Catherine and Mary.
He is survived by his children, Norma, Vincent Jr., Michael, Jaime (Kevin), Lisa (Steve) grandchildren, Michelle (Tony), Nigel (Janessa), Sarah-Margaret, Jennifer, Thomas (Judy), Ryan and Ian, great-grandchildren, Isis, Alexander, Kaiden, Drake, Trent, Daisy, Amelia, Ace, Annabella and Penelope and many nieces and nephews whom he loved so much.
You are a true American hero and will never be forgotten. You are and will remain in our hearts forever. We now know you are happy and whole again and will be watching over us with mom. We love you and thank you for all you have taught us. We've got it from here. Rest easy. We love you, pop.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to, Wreaths Across America from the main page under donations. Daddy wants to ensure every veteran gets a wreath. They deserve it. This young man will personally lay the wreaths with honor.
