She was born in Washington Co., Texas on January 1, 1944. Verna graduated from Brenham and received an Associate of Arts from Blinn College.
She was married to Elmer Ray Hudspeth in 1965.
Verna had a career as a Officer Manager and Bookkeeper for P.D.C. (Avon distribution), Waste Management, UPS and taught at private kindergarten at Cogbills Preschool.
She had a passion for nature, flowers, gardening, water color painting and her grandsons.
She is survived by her son, Arthur Ray Hudspeth and spouse Janette Diane Hudspeth of Conroe; grandchildren, Austin Taylor Hudspeth, Connor Arthur Hudspeth and fiancé Isabel Santos; brother, Roger Buro and his wife Linda Buro of Brenham; nephew, Sean Buro; and nieces, Sheila Buro Menk and spouse John Menk, Sara Buro Hobson and spouse James Hobson.
