On September 18, 2001 in Houston, Texas, a perfect baby boy entered the world born to John Harris and Tanisha Hicks and he was named Tyler Landon Hicks. Tyler loved his family, friends and especially candy. He was affectionately known as “Candy Hound” because he was always on the hunt for something sugary.
At an early age, Tyler was your typical precocious little boy that was full of energy. He was always protective of his family especially his mother and brother. Tyler loved spending the summers with his grandparents in the country and would always talk them into taking him to Wal-Mart to get the latest WWE gear or any toy that caught his eye. Growing up, Tyler loved sports and tried his hand in soccer, baseball and basketball.
Tyler was a 2019 graduate of Atascocita High School in Humble ISD. He was a loyal & trusting friend and was loved by many. It was not until after high school, when he realized his ultimate passion for life – making music. He was on the brink of becoming a successful artist when his life was tragically stolen away. Known by his stage name as Peso, writing his own material was a way for Tyler to express his feelings. With his freestyle raps, rhythmic flow, and the raw & authentic lyrics, his music touched all those that were blessed to hear it. His lyrics truly spoke from the heart. Tyler was at his best when he was in the studio booth, you could definitely see this showcased through his talent and what he wanted to do with his life.
He gained his wings and met his Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 15, 2021. Tyler leaves to cherish his wonderful memory: Mother, Tanisha Hicks; father, John Harris; younger brother, Faroh Nwokeafor; grandparents, Lon & Barbara Williams and John, Sr. & Violet Hicks; uncle and aunt, David, Jr. & Shay Lovett; cousins, Jared, Amyah & Jadyn Benford, David III, Donavin, Aiden & Aaron Lovett. A host of uncles, aunts, other cousins and friends.
