To my Uncle Tommy,
I'll be forever thankful to have had you be a part of my life.. there aren't very many stand up men that I've come across in my whole life, and in all honesty you were the best man that I've ever met. I never had a real dad, but you filled those shoes more than any one ever knew.. from teaching me honor and respect, to teaching me how to drive,,  allowing me responsibilities that would later lead me to be my own man, to disciplining me when necessary for actions you knew were unworthy of being a real stand up guy,, watching as you did what it takes to take care of your family, and even others, all while keeping the biggest smile and wonderful sense of humor. I'll forever miss your great big bear hugs, and silliest dad jokes, but most of all I've been missing, still miss, and will always miss you being the dad i never had, Uncle Tommy..  You were always there for me, and did whatever it took, if i ever needed you. There will never be enough words to say what you truly meant to me.  I know you're still looking after and protecting us, and will always Love Us.

I am heartbroken that I won’t be able to share laughs with you and listen to our favorite songs when you come pick the boys up from the center. 

As many others have said, your warm hearted nature always shone brightly. Even when it was obvious that you were exhausted from a long day’s work, you always found the energy to lend a helping hand  and lift the spirits of those around you. 

I promise, I will help the boys and your family however I can.

You were at just about every campout our troop had over the past several years, and a big part of each and every one of them. I'll especially miss you hanging out with the other adults around the fire and trading stories. It's still hard to believe you won't be there with us anymore.

You were literally the best cheer dad ever. You meant so much to all of us, you brought joy, you brought jokes, laughter, you brought team spirit. I will never forget how you always made everyone feel. You were a giver, always wanting to exude happiness onto others. What an privilege it is to have known such an honorable and amazing family man like yourself. God needed you more! Keeping Ms. Mary in my thoughts and prayers because I love her too, so much. Sending warmth and comfort to the Williams family ❤️

Tommy worked for us for over 20 years. He stayed around until we had to shut it down because of the Coronavirus in 2020.  Tommy was very dedicated to his job and was an awesome guy to have on the team. He always gave us his all and got the job done. We never received a bad word about him. The customers loved Tommy and would personally request his services. Tommy was a fun spirited person and was lively to be around. Tommy spoke highly of his family and loved his wife and children very much. He also loved his country, the military,  and was a huge law enforcement supporter.  Tommy lived on Facebook and his video games when he wasn't driving the truck for us. He liked to show us everything he found amusing on Facebook. He loved a good lunch too and we shared many meals together. There are so many memories that we could share and go on and on about. We will miss you very much Tommy. It breaks our heart to realize you are no longer with us. The world is not the same without you on this planet.  You will be missed. We love you Tommy Williams, rest in peace.

I can still remember the day that we met. It was the summer of ‘86. I can see you in your mom’s brown Ford escort driving up the driveway, at my house. We became instant friends. The long talks until the early mornings.  Spending so much time together. That friendship turned into an everlasting love. We have had our ups and downs but our love has conquered all.  Tommy Layne...you are my forever.  I am at a loss, thinking about how I’m going to have to live my life without you by my side.  I know you will always be with me and the kids, but not feeling the touch of your skin, the warmth of your breath or hearing you whisper “I love you”, breaks my heart. 💔  Forever yours,  Mary 

To Tommy’s Family,

Losing Tommy will be a huge personal loss to me and an even bigger loss to all the scouts and volunteers of Troop 599.  
From the time I joined Troop 599 with my son five years ago, Tommy has been a constant part of our lives with his unending cheerfulness and intense eagerness to help others.  
He has made such a contribution to all our lives through his volunteering with the Troop and doing the hard work of transporting and taking care of the Troop truck and trailer.  

I will truly miss Tommy and will always remember him fondly.

Tommy was the most dedicated Boy Scout Leader and Dad around. His commitment to his boys and all of the boys and to the well-ordered functioning of the Troop at camp was amazing. You could always count on him to be where he was needed and to share a joke or laugh to lift everyone's spirits.  He set the bar high for parents, for Scouts, and for leaders.  He will be missed by many.  Our prayers are will Jonathan and Joseph and Jess and Madison and Mary.

I don't have pictures of you with us uncle Tom, but I have memories of you since we were little and you visiting us in Mexico, to more recent years. Tito and I will miss you. Now you get to chill next to popo, momo and my mamma.

Presiding in Tommy's nature was the generosity to aid others using so often his enormous physical abilities while sharing his knowledge with the gentlest of spirits, and in their genuine forms they cannot be separated.  Tommy was ever the enormous resource, often doing good for Troop 599 without condescension and without ostentation, would noiselessly take the post of gentle service and do the kindly deed.   Tommy could have the easy and great affection for even the smallest though most necessary of duties which is the peculiar triumph of the highest spirit.  May Tommy's providential character be the example and the source for its perpetuity with us on Earth.

We were so grateful to Tommy when he asked if he could help in the Troop, then he did a great job of keeping us in line — with joy and enthusiasm.  He was a big man and leaves a big hole in our lives. 

He loved his kids and his family.  They loved him.  We will miss him but dearly hope his boys will be an active part in Scouts!

Thank you for letting us have Tommy for Troop 599.  I enjoyed his conversation on camp outs and the drives there and back. We could always count on him to put the troop trailer where ever it needed to go.  He was an integral part of Troop 599 and I will miss him.

Tommy you will truly be missed.  Meeting you for the first time I knew I would like this crazy person.  From baseball to football seeing you coach my son was the best.   The world has lost a good husband and dad, but we know you’re with god now.
You will never be forgotten.

I also knew Tommy from scouts. He was a good man, and I hate to hear of his passing. My condolences to all of you and especially Jonathan.

Mary I was never lucky enough to meet you but I know how much Tommy loved his wife and children.  I am so so sorry for your loss. He’s in a much better place with his mama and g-ma and his aunt Gracie. He was a awesome cousin to me I’m so blessed to have memories of our younger days. Tommy was only 7 years old when we first met him.  We were newlyweds and had just moved to California.  He and Nancy welcomed us into their home while we searched for one of our own.  Little Cindy and Kimmie and Tommy kept us entertained so we didn’t get homesick. Time and fate sent us all in different directions over the years but thankfully brought us back together in recent times.  Rest In Peace Tommy, hug your mama for us.
