Aunt T was a kind, compassionate, stubborn, pull yourself up by your bootstraps kind of girl. Her family was everything to her, and she always had a positive thought and a nice compliment for everyone. Although she wanted to be a lawyer, she was discouraged because she was a woman, it was something she always regretted not having done.
A business woman before women were in business, she gave all of us our first jobs as small children. She gave me a penny a box for every box I folded when I was 6. We all made countless bows at Christmas time for all the dresses and coats we wrapped.
She cooked for us for many Thanksgivings where we would all crowd into her living room awaiting her beef wellington that was always overcooked. Food was a way for Aunt t to show her love, and every year she spent hours and sometimes days making her homemade toffee that we all waited for.
Tuesday nights were always art classes, and Aunt T convinced many people they had artistic abilities where before they believed they had none.
Our hearts are sad without her, but we know she is in a better place free of pain. She was a religious person and told me she could have been a preacher. She didn't care your religion as long as you believed in something. Whether Jewish or Christian, it didn't matter to her. She always believed all things could be better with a prayer.
Aunt T was the most unselfish person I ever knew, generous to a fault and from a loving place. She believed her children could do no wrong, and she never had a negative word for anyone. She loved life and always believed that tomorrow the sun would shine bringing happy days ahead. She was my hero, and her death leaves me with a hole in my heart.
Fly free Aunt T on your way to a place where all who loved you are there to greet you. Soar on the wings of angels home to God.
