Garland attended Sam Houston High School until its closing and ultimately graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1953. He worked in the oil and gas industry for over 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Gerald and Mary Lou May, brothers and their wives - William and Janie Box, Telma and Lorene Box, Gerald May and sister Velma Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Barbara Ann May, daughter Janice McDonald and husband Bud, son Tim May and wife Shari, and brother Harland May and wife Jeanette.
Grandchildren, Ryan Reagan and wife Crystal, Jennifer Moore and husband John, Shelby Mayes and husband Jackson and Sydney May and partner Joseph Salazar.
Great Grandchildren Taylor, Rylan and Peyton Reagan; JJ Mayes and Payson Salazar.
A private Graveside Service is planned.
