Terry (Jack) Spiller (SFC) Retired, was born on November 27, 1933, in Cedar Lane, Texas to Alex Albright Spiller and Maxie Carter Spiller. He departed his long life, at the age of 88 on October 11, 2022, at 9:15 p.m. surrounded by his family. He accepted Christ as his Lord & Savior at an early age in his life.
Terry attended high school in his hometown and then decided to serve his country, first in the U.S. Marines and then service in the U.S. Army. His job title there was a Helicopter Repair Specialist. He received numerous awards while serving, especially the prestigious Purple Heart Award. He retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class in 1971.
He met and formed a union with Naomi Williams of Fayetteville, N.C., They had been married for 64 years at the time of his death.
Terry, then moved with his wife and family to Houston, Tx. He worked at the Houston Veteran’s Memorial Hospital as a Maintenance Technician.
He then retired after 39 years of total service to the United States Government.
(Uncle Jack), as he was belovingly called by those who knew him well, was best known for his quick-witted humor and fierce determination. He was also no stranger to giving advice with his strong opinions. He liked watching western movies, sports and riding around on his riding lawn mower. He also loved sitting outside for hours at a time just to pass the time away.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories to his beloved wife of 64 years, Naomi. His sister-in-law Gladys Spiller of Bay City, Texas. Two Son’s-Hal (Sylvia), Terry (Janice). Daughters, Charlene Spiller, Darlene Spiller, Portia Cleveland (Randolph) & Adia Lauren Dightman Spiller. Grand Children - Demario Spiller (Maria), Sammi Sibley, Barry Sibley (Wanda), Shelbia (George), Aaron Spiller & Nadia. Brother-in-law Johnny Williams, Mangier Williams (Joyce). Sister-in-law, Ella Lee Mitchell (Willis) all of Fayetteville, N.C. A host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He loved you all.
He was preceded in death by his loving Mother, Maxie Spiller, Father Alex Spiller, five brothers-Floyd Spiller, Fred Spiller, John Spiller, Jimmy Spiller, Buddy Spiller and sister Minnie Ola Spiller.
