Francis Sanders. Terry was a special needs child, but in spite of his apparent disabilities
he managed to accomplish great things in his lifetime. Terry received Jesus into his life at the
age of nine. After attending church services along with his sister and her family for many
years he grew to developed a genuine love for the Lord and he often express that love
through praise and worship.
As Terry grew older, he was not just special, he became exceptional!
He graduated from Evan E. Worthing High School in 1990, where he participated in the
special Olympics on his track team. No matter what everyone else wore to school,
Terry was distinctively different; wearing his signature Sunday best shirt and tie to school
everyday.
Terry and his mother moved to Bellaire, Texas thirty years ago. Terry soon became known
throughout the neighborhood for his friendly and bubbly personality along with his cheerful
smile. Terry bought excitement to every environment he entered. He never met a stranger.
Terry was the real “Fresh Prince Of Bellaire”. Everywhere he went, people grew to know and
love Terry. He quickly caught the attention of his soon to be “God-father” Mr. Jimmy Duncan,
owner of South Paw Guitars on Bellaire Blvd. Jimmy also grew to know and love Terry.
After Terry’s mother passed in 1996, Jimmy adopted Terre and vowed to take care of him,
and he did just that! He helped Terry to acquire his own apartment, where he learned to
become independent. Terry loved living on his own and took pride in keeping his apartment
clean. Unlike the average single young man, Terry kept his apartment immaculate.
Terry also found a local church where they loved and accepted him unconditionally
in spite of his disabilities. He grew to love the Hispanic culture and his new church family.
It was at that church that Terry was able to use his gift of exhortation through prayer, and
preaching of the word of God.
Thanks to his Pastor; Tony Ramos of Iglesia El Nombre De Jesus Church of Bellaire, Texas.
It is because of Pastor Ramos and the entire church family that Terry was able to fulfill his
purpose and calling here on the earth.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; Theo Driver and Francis Sanders; along with his
brothers; Francis Theo Driver Jr. and Otto Lorenzo Driver.
He leaves to cherish three sisters; Debra Bonner Nickerson, Deshundria Bonner,
Jeanette Simpson Brown. Two brothers; Weldon Bonner and David Bonner. And a host of
nieces, nephews, aunts, one uncle and many friends.
