Ted William Bereswill

Ted William Bereswill was an extraordinary man who touched countless lives through his passion and exceptional contributions to his family and community. Ted was committed to excellence his whole life and found success in many areas as a loving husband, incredible father and papa bear, phenomenal sales executive, passionate mentor, and exceptional leader.

Ted was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on the 17th of April 1958, to parents William and Bonnie Moebus Bereswill. He moved to Houston with his family and attended Memorial High School. He was a proud Texas Longhorn who graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1980 with a degree in Business. While at Texas, he was initiated into the Gamma-Upsilon Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE), where he met many lifelong friends and later led initiatives to grow the fraternity on the national level as Grand Prytanis.

Professionally, Ted Bereswill led an esteemed career with more than 30 years of experience in enterprise software sales and management with a number of the top companies in the industry. The majority of his career was spent at Oracle Corporation where his demonstrated track record of delivering superior business results led him to rise to the position of Senior Vice President of North America Sales. He was known for his integrity and strength, ability to foster a culture of respect and dignity, and expertise with building and leading extraordinary teams. Bereswill simultaneously worked as a White House Presidential Representative in the administrations of Presidents George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush. While serving as a presidential advance volunteer, one of his favorite hobbies, Ted made many friends and enjoyed flying on Air Force One and working with many world leaders.

Ted was an excellent leader and mentor who dedicated a significant portion of his life to guiding and nurturing others. His wisdom, passion, and ability to inspire greatness in those around him will continue to shape the lives of many for generations to come.

In 2013, Ted Bereswill re-engaged with his fraternity, TKE, and began his service to their Grand Council shortly thereafter. His guidance was critical to the fraternity’s growth and success seen today. Bereswill loved presenting at leadership programs and mentoring young men to push themselves to excellence.

Ted also served on the Board of Directors for Star of Hope Mission and The University of Houston College of Technology and served as President of the Bayou City Breakfast Club, where he had many great friends. Star of Hope, based in Houston, is one of the largest homeless missions in the United States. Five years ago he supported the creation of the Cornerstone Community, a 48-acre transitional housing complex, to aid men, women, and children. Their work includes uplifting participants and providing a nurturing environment for families to get a fresh start.

Ted’s legacy is one of love, service, and impact. Ted passed away on Sunday, the 13th of August 2023. He is survived by a family that will forever hold his memory in their hearts: his wife, Kim Long Bereswill; his daughter, Becky Jackson and her husband Ken Jackson; his daughter, Allison Boulle and her husband, Nick Boulle; his grandson, Barrett William Jackson; his mother, Bonnie Bereswill; his sisters, Sue Kean Walker, Sally Douglas, and Vicky Landin, and their loving families.

Friends are cordially invited to a celebration of his life to be held from six until eight o’clock in the evening on Tuesday the 22nd of August, in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

A memorial service will be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 23rd of August, in the sanctuary of The Church of St. John the Divine, 2450 River Oaks Boulevard in Houston, where the Rev.
