Sue Ann grew up in Houston and attended Burnet Elementary, Jackson Junior High, and Austin High School, where she served proudly as Captain of the Bugle Corps in the Scottish Brigade. After high school, she went on to earn her degree in Education from the University of Houston, and later received her Master’s in Education from Texas Southern University. Teaching and educational duties were the love of her life. She served in the Houston Independent School District as a teacher, counselor, principal, and ultimately as an assistant superintendent.
Sue Ann lived a happy life and made all those around her happy as well. She never married and had no children of her own. However, as a teacher, counselor, principal and superintendent, over the years, she had hundreds of children. She was a beloved sister, aunt, and mentor who exemplified the highest concepts of love and unity. She stood for principle, integrity, kindness, and generosity. When she lost her loved ones, she held head erect. She has loved others in such a way that they will never stop loving you.
This tribute is offered with great love and admiration. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Woodhaven Village Assisted Living for their devoted care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Sue Ann’s memory.
