Stephen Peter Pennell, 64, of Houston, Texas, passed away on January 6, 2024. He was born on May 27, 1959, in Bedford, England. Stephen, also known as Steve, was a loving and caring individual who touched the lives of many. He was known for his generosity, understanding, ambition, and intelligence.
Stephen is survived by his mother, Ester Margaret Pennell; sister, Elizabeth Zoldessy (Howard); nephew's wife, Abby Molnar; wife, Cynthia Burrows-Pennell; step-daughters, Cayla Burrows and Cara Burrows; and grandson Kamrynn Sims. He was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) Pennell; sister, Cindy Pennell; and nephew, Michael Kontor.
Stephen graduated from Greater Latrobe Senior High School in the class of '77. He later received his higher education at Penn State University. He had a successful career as a Senior Reservoir Engineering Advisor at Oxy Permian for 23 years, followed by three years as a Senior Reservoir Engineer at Denbury Resources. For the past 14 years, Steve worked as a Staff Reservoir Engineer for Kinder Morgan CO2 Company.
In his free time, Stephen enjoyed walking his beloved dog, Bolt, and cherished moments spent with his family. He had a passion for travel especially Hawaii, karaoke, theater arts, and had a keen interest in antiques and crystals.
Stephen Pennell will be remembered for his love, kindness, and the positive impact he made on the lives of those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Stephens life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, located at 13001 Kay Freeway, Texas 77079. The funeral home assisting with the arrangements is Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery in Katy, Texas.
