Shugar was born on July 28, 1961 in San Benito, Texas to Lucia and Israel Davila. She moved to Houston at the age of 5 and attended LL Pugh and McReynolds Jr. High. She briefly attended Incarnate Word Academy and graduated from Houston Technical Institute in 1979. She worked in Administration for several years until she found her beloved work family at Samuel Bryant Investments, where she worked for 22 wonderful years.
Shugar also had a very successful cake baking and decorating business for nearly 50yrs. She started baking at the age of 12 for close friends and family, and perfect her craft until late 2020 due to illness.
Shugar enjoyed trips to South Padre Island, Galveston and Corpus Christi with her twins. She enjoyed food and new restaurants. Often traveling all over town for a new experience. She enjoyed holidays and family gatherings at the family ranch, and caring for her 3 dogs, Zeppelin, Romeo and PJ.
Shugar is proceeded in death by her parents, as well as both maternal and paternal grandparents.
She is survived by her twins, Candi and Shugar (Spouse- Mario), her sisters, Mary (Spouse- William), Gloria (Spouse- Mario) and Angela, and her brother, Robert. Her nieces, Marianna and Julia, and her nephews, Erick, Mario, Marcos and Nicholas. As well as her beautiful grandchildren, Roman and Raven."
A visitation for Shugar will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A committal service will occur Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
Serving as pallbearers are Nicholas Blanco, Adrian Longoria, Jesus Elizondo, John Daniel Cantu, Arthur Braito and Mario Perez.
