Shirley Ann Whitehead

Shirley Ann Gaines Whitehead was born April 6, 1949 in Houston, Texas to the proud parents of Thelma and Jackson Gaines Sr. Shirley grew up in Fifth Ward of Houston, Texas. She attended and graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School. Shirley worked and retired from South Western Bell. Then later to be employed at Securitas Security Service at the WA Parish Plant in Richmond, Texas.

Shirley went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents Thelma and Jackson Gaines Sr.; her brother Jackson Gaines Jr.; her husband Michael Whitehead and grandson Bobby Meeks.

Shirley leaves to cherish her loving memories with her son Brian Drumgo Sr. and daughter-in-law Sandra Drumgo. Grandchildren: Latrisha Fortenberry (Carl), Brian Drumgo Jr. and Brandon Drumgo. Great Grandchildren: Jarria Hutson, Marcus Hale, Cali Fortenberry and Kase Fortenberry. Sister: Barbara, Niece: Gina, Nephew: Malcom, extended family and friends.

Shirley was an exceptional mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law. Her family was one of her greatest joys. Shirley was also a friend to many……. Her loving kindness had a way of making you feel so special. Shirley had a heart of gold, a big beautiful smile, and a way of shifting the atmosphere in a positive way. She took great pleasure in helping others. She is the epitome of a virtuous woman.
