Born in El Campo, Texas, Sherrill quickly became known for his outgoing personality. He excelled in sports and began a long and successful career in firefighting training, equipment design and sales. He broke many records in his field. He married his high school sweetheart Donna Forsha and had 2 children. He loved the outdoors including riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and golf. In his later years he become a skilled poker player, playing in tournaments and making many new friends.
Sherrill met the love of his life, Jo, when he helped her move into his apartment complex. That meeting changed the course of his life and they soon married. She brought out the best in him and her daughters became a part of the Miller family. They spent many years, along with his son Cory and daughter Sherra camping, dirt bike riding and sharing many memorable family outings. In his later years he spent a lot of time with his brother Randy and they remained very close until his passing.
Sherrill is survived by his son Cory Miller, his daughter Sherra Miller, his brother Randy Miller and their spouses; 2 grandchildren Cameron Miller and Candace Quinn and 1 great grandson Jack Quinn; along with numerous family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father William Miller, his mother Doris Stover, his wife Jo Miller and his grandson Matthew Miller.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2 pm on July 5, 2023 at Forest Park Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, Texas 77077.
