Sharon Parker Turner passed away peacefully from this earth early Wednesday, January 11, 2017 with family by her side after a long illness. She was born on October 14, 1943 in Houston, Texas to June and C.T. Parker who both predeceased her. She attended high school at The Kinkaid School and entered the University of Texas where she met Fred Turner from Dallas, Texas.
She and Fred soon married and were gifted with three children Charlotte, Amanda and Sean who have blossomed into strong, loving adults. Sharon was always an aficionado of fashion, whether she was modeling jewelry while she worked at Becker's Jewelry, the latest ski gear during her trips to Vail, Colorado, or popular styles from her relationship with Houston's fashion leaders of the 60s, 70s and 80s. She was hip, groovy, and cool, and always knew how to throw the best parties.
Sharon is survived by her 3 children Charlotte Turner of Dallas, Texas, Amanda Turner Hairston and husband Jim of Dallas Texas and Sean Frederick Turner and wife Claire of Houston, Texas along with 4 grandchildren Caitlin Fay Hancock, Mallory Sue Hancock, Glenn Thomas Turner and Mary Bess Turner. She is also survived by her brother Tim Parker, nephews Chase, Chad, and niece Mallory, and Aunt Fern Dawson. She also has many cousins who loved her and will miss her.
The family would also like to thank Patricia Allison Kelly for being a care giver and close friend for many years.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 18th at 2pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the SPCA of Houston, Texas located at 900 Portway Drive, Houston, Texas 77024 in Sharon's memory.
